The capital city of Tamil Nadu state in India is Chennai. Earlier it was known as Madras. It is situated on the coast of Bay of Bengal in eastern India. It is one of the largest city of India in terms of population and It is considered as one of the world’s fastest growing cities. The city of Madras grew immensely under the British rule. The major tourist attraction of Chennai are the museums and other institutions. Education is prioritized in the city. IIT Madras is considered as the top engineering institution of India. It has emerged as one of the leading medical centers of the country.
